Nov 27, Rosie Ramsey Granillo, “A Decade in El Salvador”

fredy-g-copyRosie was born and grew up in Chestertown. A Jesuit education led her to El Salvador where the history of resistance and solidarity “ruined her for life.‟ She spent seven years working for the organization “Voices on the Border‟ in communities of former guerrillas and refugees, who organized to build humble but resilient communities. Her experience as a community organizer, wife and mother amidst profound contradictions of violence and love, oppression and liberation were profoundly transformative. She now brings this perspective to her work for children, youth and families in our very own Family and Community Partnerships of Kent County. Fredy Granillo will be providing special music.
