“Vacation or Pilgrimage” – Rev. Greg Chute, Guest Speaker — In-person & Zoom

Wikipedia notes this difference:

“A vacation is either a leave of absence from a regular job or an instance of leisure travel away from home.”

“A pilgrimage is a journey, often into an unknown or foreign place, where a person goes in search of new or expanded meaning about themselves, others, nature, or a higher good through the experience. It can lead to a personal transformation, after which the pilgrim returns to their daily life.”

So as we enter this summer season of travel, we may well ask ourselves not only where are we going, but why?

Are we going away, or toward? Might we open ourselves up to a more profound or even transformative experience?
