Adults
UUCR Adult Religious Education (ARE) offers various educational activities for adults. These include book and movie discussions, and various courses given on an as needed basis. Most UUCR courses and discussions are open to the public The most recent course was a UUA course entitled ‘Building Your Own Theology’ where participants spent several weeks exploring the meaning of religion, their individual religious or spiritual backgrounds, the existence or nonexistence of a higher power, ethics and who makes the meanings. At the end of the course each participant developed an individual Credo, or belief, statement.
In addition to the formal educational opportunities ARE also sponsors a Dutch treat breakfast the first Tuesday of each month at Beverly’s restaurant in Chestertown. This is a great time to catch up with friends as well as discuss a suggested topic. Past topics include Covenants, UUCR’s Development Plan, Social Justice, New Year’s hopes, Love, and Winds of Change. Currently these meetings are suspended.
Come join us for one or more intellectual and fun explorations.
