Nov. 6, Emily Hovermale “Advocating for Animals: What We Can Do.”

The talk will focus on the work of The Humane Society of the United States, which, while different from the work of local shelters, compliments and supports what they do. The talk will also explore some of the UUA statements on the human impact on animals and the nexus with recent HSUS legislative and policy work, plans for 2017 legislation, and how people can get involved with animal advocacy.
Emily Hovermale is the Maryland State Director for the Humane Society of the United States, the nation’s largest and most effective animal protection organization.
