Aug 11– Diane Shields, “Introvert and Extrovert in Social Justice”

As an introvert, Diane will explore what it means to be introverted/extroverted, and how that relates to being advocates for social justice, environmental justice, and justice in general. How can we all contribute, no matter what our personality types dictate?

SUMMER SUNDAY DISCUSSIONS! July 7, Carol Dobson and Marilee Taussig, “Race and Us.”

Want to talk about what matters to you about racism?  Want to hear what others have to say?  We’ll use a listening process that lets us know we’ve been understood.  We’ll give and receive attention to what concerns us, confuses us, makes sense to us, and share personal experiences.   Our goal is to develop compassion for ourselves and each other as we experience what it’s like to talk about laments and regrets, as well as aspirations, intentions and accomplishments.  By doing so, we can become better allies in our pursuit of racial equity and justice.  We’ll forge bonds.

SUMMER SUNDAY DISCUSSIONS! June 30, Carol West, “‘Baubiologie.”

Carol will share with us the science of “Baubiologie,” as well as her knowledge and experience of synthetics, pollutants and toxics all about us which cause allergies and suffering.  We will learn how to show our appreciation for the needs of our newest piano playing UUCR participant — and others.
