We will celebrate language as a tool for communication, art, connection, community, democracy, and mental health. Language is an instrument of oppression and liberation, emotion and repression, information and disinformation, praise and reproach. It is such a natural part of our lives, that many of us take it for granted. Yet, the underutilization of language and its impacts are seen and felt from the individual to society level. This celebration reminds us to keep talking, writing, singing, and especially, listening.
