“When Should We Change With the Times, and When Should We Refuse To Let the Times Change Us?”- Rev. Kathryn Adams, Minister — In-person & Zoom

Today, we will discuss and reflect on the lessons of a story told of A.J. Muste, a famous peace activist from the era of theVietnam War who did a solo candle protest in front of the White House. I encountered this story in theological school. A reflection at the time was an invitation to consider our impact and advocate that we change with the times to connect with the people. Connection is our power; the people are our power. Yet, recent reflections on unlikely activists have led to the description that they are people who refuse to let the times change them. Let us talk about adapting and grounding in community.
